PRIVATE JESUS DETECTOR : demo tape (1991)

PRIVATE JESUS DETECTOR : demo tape (self released, 1991)
Since punktapes.com is about bringing you your favorite tapes of days gone by, and preferable tapes, demos made by local bands, I’d say this one certainly applies for the job. Founded in ‘89, dis-banded in ‘93, here’s the original demo tape from my all time favorite Belgium band, PRIVATE JESUS DETECTOR.
As some of you might now, this tape got remastered & reissued about 3 years ago, on the 12″, called ‘the complete workz’
It documents all their previously released material & might be available thru your favorite distro..if not, feel free to drop me a line.
I’ve decided to rewind the whole remastering process by bringing you the ‘unpolished demo tape’ and their one and only 7″ how evil can one get?” which you’ll find on your favorite MP3 blog “7inchpunk.com” very soon! I believe the ‘PJD story’ (biography etc) has to come from a first hand source, thus I’m going to scan the 12″ insert while I’m at it. It’s packed with everything there’s too know about PJD & carefully compiled by the former bass player.

This demo tape came with a booklet (which I have but didn’t post). I’ve got no idea what it would mean in figures of extra bandwidth usage if I had done so but size does matter…
Final note : the first track, called “alcohol isn’t just a part of my life, it’s my life’” (see demo sleeve) and renamed as “intro” in the zip file holds the 2nd track ‘humanity is inhuman’ as well. It proved to be simply impossible to separate them without affecting the original recording.
To top it all off, I’ve added their MOB 47 ‘dom ljuger’ cover (which they didn’t include on the demo ’cause they felt it was a rather weak impression). As one of the band members told me, they did it just for the fun! Having said so, I still think it’s a real ripper!
Enjoy

They’re not singing “dom ljuger” in Swedish, huh? I can only hear “dom ljuger” in the lyrics, but the rest I don’t know what the fuck it is, haha. Though I am Swedish, I should know.
